چکیده
Abstract Tumour lysis syndrome (TLS) is a well-recognised oncological emergency caused by rapid destruction of cancer cells. Despite most commonly occurring in haematological malignancies or following initiation chemotherapy, rarely, it occurs solid tumours without any trigger. Release nucleic acids during cell breakdown produces large amounts uric acid resulting crystallisation within the renal tubules, clinically manifesting as severe acute kidney injury. We hereby discuss first reported case lethal spontaneous TLS 77-year-old patient admitted with newly diagnosed metastatic gallbladder adenocarcinoma and reflect on importance considering rarer causes AKI patients organ cancers.

Cutaneous metastatic adenocarcinoma complicated by spontaneous tumor lysis syndrome: A case report
The present study reports the case of a 71-year-old female with metastatic adenocarcinoma of the skin who developed tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) upon admittance to the First Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning Medical University (Jinzhou, China). The patient presented to the hospital due to multiple subcutaneous nodules, lethargy and weakness, but succumbed without any cancer therapy. Metastases to t...
متن کاملCase report: acute tumour lysis syndrome.
INTRODUCTION Acute tumour lysis syndrome (ATLS) is a potentially lethal but preventable complication of oncological treatment. CLINICAL PICTURE We report a case of a patient with Burkitt's leukaemia who developed ATLS after treatment with chemotherapy. TREATMENT Standard preventive measures using aggressive hydration, urine alkalinisation and uricosuric agents were instituted before chemoth...
متن کاملMetastatic gallbladder adenocarcinoma with signet-ring cells: A case report
INTRODUCTION Signet-ring cell carcinoma is a rare and aggressive variant of mucinous adenocarcinoma. Only a few cases of gallbladder adenocarcinoma with signet-ring cells have been reported and because of this there is a lack of knowledge about the behavior and biology of this pathology. CASE PRESENTATION We present the case of a 63-year-old Arab man with gallbladder signet-ring cell adenocar...
متن کاملCase Report Of Lymphangitic Carcinomatosis Secondary To Lung Adenocarcinoma
Pulmonary lymphangitic carcinomatosis is the spread of a tumor to the lungs through the lymphatic system, which is a rare and final manifestation of cancer with a poor prognosis. Its main symptom is gradual and progressive dyspnea. The method of choice for diagnosis is high-resolution CT (HRCT), the most common finding of which is an increase in nodular and irregular septal thickness between th...
متن کاملSpontaneous Tumor Lysis Syndrome in a Patient with Metastatic Small Cell Lung Cancer: A Case Report
Tumor lysis syndrome is an oncologic emergency that usually occurs after chemotherapy in patients with hematologic malignancies. Tumor lysis syndrome is rare in cases of solid tumors, especially when it occurs spontaneously. Herein, we present a case of spontaneous tumor lysis syndrome in a 55-year-old woman who presented with dyspnea and was found to have extensive metastatic small cell lung c...
